Todd K. Holmes, age 49, of Topeka, KS, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024.
He was born the son of Darl K. Holmes and “Dody” Doranne (Myrick), on November 3, 1974, in Topeka, KS.
Todd attended Tecumseh South Elementary and graduated in 1993 from Shawnee Heights High School. He participated in many sports growing up, excelling in football. Todd started his career owning and operating his own landscaping business for over 15 years. In 2010, Todd started working for BNSF Railroad and was a Journeyman Carman.
Todd’s greatest enjoyment and brought him the biggest smile was being a father to his two boys, Trenton and Ty. He loved being a dad and held a special bond with both his boys. They loved to ride four wheelers, hunt, and fish. Todd was the boy’s biggest fan when it came to sports and school functions. He will be remembered by his friends and family as being quick-witted, always willing to help, and being creative with giving everyone a nickname. Although our hearts are weighing heavy during this difficult time, we can find comfort in sharing all the memories, stories, and wonderful times Todd brought to our lives.
Survivors include his two sons, Trenton & Ty Holmes, and their mother, Dawn Holmes; father, Darl Holmes; mother, “Dody” Doranne (Myrick) and Larry Boltz; sister, Tami Schauf and husband Brent, their children, Aiden, Brookelyn, and Camden Schauf; fiancé, Sarah Persons and her daughter, Londyn Persons. Other survivors include a loving extended family that includes numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
Todd was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 P.M., Friday, April 26, 2024, at Lake Shawnee Event Center at Bettis Family Sports Complex, 3025 SE Croco Rd, Topeka, KS 66605.
