Timothy Lee Pfeifer

August 10, 1948 — April 3, 2021

Timothy Lee Pfeifer, formerly of Topeka, Kansas.

On Saturday April 3, 2021, God called Tim home following an extended illness at the age of 72 at the Kansas City Hospice House. Tim will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 47 years, Bobbie (nee Byrd), son Daren (Mindy), and his grandchildren Olivia and Ian. As well as three brothers Eugene of Topeka, Raymond (Ginny) of Overland Park, KS, and Dennis (Denise) of Silver Lake, KS, and three sisters Carolyn Pfeifer and Erlene Pfeifer-Gifford both of Topeka, and Theresa (Jim) Sanders of O’Fallon, IL, as well as his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Armella (nee Unrein), and a son Jared Pfeifer who passed away on May 19, 2000.

Tim was born in 1948 in Lamar, Colorado. He was proud to volunteer to join the Navy and fight for his country in the Vietnam War where he served aboard the USS Brule and USS Ute. When he returned he met his wife Bobbie and were married on May 11th, 1974 in Topeka, Kansas. He worked over 30 years as a diesel mechanic at Frito-Lay. Following his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, woodworking, and model railroading. Tim also enjoyed tinkering with things to see how they worked.  He was proud to serve at VFW Post 1650, where he was a life member. In 2017, he moved to the Kansas City area where he could enjoy his grandchildren.

Tim was a gentle giant who was loved and respected by all who knew him. He loved helping others and never passed up a good prank. He will be missed by his family.

Private graveside services with military honors will be conducted at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
