Steven Dominguez, age 90, died November 11, 2025, after a short illness at the Midland Hospice House. He was born July 14, 1935, in Topeka, Ks. His parents were Pedro Dominguez Sr. and Consuelo (Adame) Dominguez.
Steven is survived by his sisters Eleanor Dominguez, Trinidad (Dominguez) Arzate and a loving extended family of nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces, and cousins.
Steven attended public schools and graduated from Topeka High School. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree (Mathematics) from Washburn University, a Bachelor of Science Degree (Computer Science) from the University of Missouri at Rolla, Missouri. Steven was employed with Boeing Aircraft and Cessna Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas. He completed his career at the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe Railway as a programmer analyst, achieving Manager status prior to his retirement in November 1996.
Steven served in the U. S. Air Force from March 1954 to March 1958 receiving an Honorable Discharge as an Airman A/1C.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his loving wife of 62 years Mary Alice (Vargas) Dominguez, four brothers Pedro Dominguez Jr., Raymond Dominguez, Michael Guerrero, and John Dominguez.
Steven's interests included watching television movies (especially really, old westerns), cheering on the New York Yankees, Norte Dame Fighting Irish football team, and the KU Jayhawk basketball team, but probably his favorite pastime was 'rolling those bones' at the casino.
He will lie in state from 5-7:00 P.M., on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, with a Parish Rosary prayed at 6:30 P.M., at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M., on Thursday, November 20, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial with military honors will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made in Steven’s memory to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church or to Hayden Catholic High School. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
