Shirley Lucille Chada

Shirley Lucille Chada, 80, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Lexington Park Health & Rehab, in Topeka, Kansas.

She was born on March 15, 1945, in Sutton, West Virginia, to Ezekiel M. Ware and Martha Estelle (McCourt) Ware. Shirley graduated from Braxton County High School in 1963.

After High School she entered the United States Army, where she was an administrative assistant. Shirley retired in 2009, as an administrative assistant from the Fairfax County Government in Fairfax, Virginia.

She enjoyed watching crime TV shows, especially “Murder She Wrote”, “Perry Mason”, as well as game shows. She also liked to complete crosswords, put together puzzles, and play games with her family.

Survivors include her children, John Chada and wife Kathy, Janet Chada, Jeremy Chada and wife Lynette, and Samuel Chada; 13 grandchildren, Meghan Chada, Robert Chada, Leah Wilson and husband Noah, Graceanne Avellaneda and husband Ben, Christian Chada, Simeon Chada, Aiden Chada, Margaret Chada, Audrey Chada, KellyAnn Chada, John Blaise Chada, Miriam Chada, Delaney Chada; 3 great grandchildren, Diana Avellaneda, Helena Avellaneda, Baby Girl Wilson; siblings, Robert Ware, Janet Conrad, and Jeffrey Ware.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; grandchild, Mary Francescia Chada; and siblings, William Ware, David Ware, and Lanty Ware.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:00am, with a funeral service at 11:00am, Monday, December 22, at Found & Sons Funeral Home in Culpeper, Virginia. Burial with military honors will follow at 12:00pm, in the Culpeper National Cemetery, Culpeper, Virginia.
