Severina Padilla

Severina Padilla, age 89, of Topeka, KS, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023, at Plaza West Healthcare & Rehab Center in Topeka.

She was born the daughter of J. Joaquin and Paula (Luna) Padilla on January 8, 1934, in Topeka, KS.

Severina attended and graduated from Our Lady of Guadalupe School and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Her pastimes included reading and she enjoyed taking walks. Her faith and devotion lead her to volunteer for Mother Teresa Missionary of Charity in Gallup, NM.

Survivors include her sisters, Juanita Padilla, Virginia Lara and a brother, Louis Padilla. Other survivors include a loving extended family that includes many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John, Frank Sr., and Alfonso Padilla; and sisters, Antonia Martinez, and Sister Margarita Padilla SCL.

Cremation has taken place.

Memorial visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 A.M., followed by a rosary at 10:30 A.M., on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M., at the church. Inurnment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery-Topeka.

Memorial contributions can be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.

The family would like to thank the staff at Plaza West and Midland Hospice Care for the wonderful care they gave to Severina and her family. She loved them all.
