Scott Lein

Scott Lein, age 61, of Topeka, KS, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022, at Stormont Vail Hospital.  

Scott was born the son of Edwin and Elisabeth (Martin) Lein on March 26, 1961, in Chicago, IL. 

On April 26, 1978, Scott joined the United States Navy. After 21 and a half years, he retired from the service as a PN1 (AW). Scott then worked another 20 years for the State of Kansas.

He married Theresa Hahn on January 15, 1983, at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Together they shared 39 years of marriage.  

Scott was never one to sit idle. He loved working on the house, in the yard and welding.  Scott also enjoyed golf and the races. He was a member of the Gold Wing Motorcycle Club and the Corvette Club. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and was a parishioner of St. Matthew Catholic Church.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Theresa Lein; three brothers, Doug Lein and his wife Linda, Tony Lein and his wife Maria, and Eric Lein and his wife Robin; as well as a loving extended family.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a nephew, Andy Lein.  

He will lie in state at St. Matthew Catholic Church on Sunday, August 21, 2022, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., with a Knights of Columbus Council #13012 led rosary at 5:00 P.M. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M., on Monday, August 22, at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Military honors will follow after the mass at the church.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Matthew Catholic School, 1000 SE 28th St., Topeka, KS 66605 and/or Special Olympics, 1133 19th St NW, Washington, DC 20036. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
