Samantha Allen and Darius Barnes, Jr.

Samantha Marie Allen, 34, and Darius Deon Barnes, Jr., 11, of Topeka, passed away unexpectedly on April 22, 2026, at their home.

Samantha was born November 26, 1991, in Topeka to David Wayne Allen and Michelle Renee (Morgan) Rouse. She was baptized at Assumption Catholic Church in Topeka and attended Royal Valley High School.

She was working as a recruiter for Talent Acquisition at ISS.

Samantha loved spending time with her boys. She also enjoyed trading and collecting Pokémon cards.

Darius was born on January 3, 2015, in Topeka, to Darius Deon Barnes, Sr. and Samantha Marie Allen. He was in 5th grade at Logan Elementary School.

He enjoyed collecting Pokémon cards and riding his bike. Darius was very artistic, he crocheted, painted, made jewelry, and sang in she school choir.

Samantha is survived by her parents, David Allen and Michelle Rouse, both of Topeka; son, Jayden Pinales of Topeka; siblings, Steven Morgan and wife Sara of Topeka, Eric Allen of Topeka, Cody Degand of Topeka, Steve Allen of Topeka, and Ashley Allen of Colorado; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Nathaleen Devore, Ronald Morgan, Judy Allen, and Garland Allen.

Darius is survived by his father, Darius Deon Barnes, Sr. of Topeka; siblings, Jayden Pinales, Lyric Barnes, Damarius Barnes all of Topeka; and grandfather, James Henderson of Topeka.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Michelle Barnes.

The family will receive friends from 2:00pm to 8:00pm, with a memorial service at 3:00pm. Friday, May 1, at Quiet Woods, 431 SE Dupont Rd. Tecumseh, KS 66542. A potluck meal will follow the service.

Flowers may be delivered to Quiet Woods on Friday between 9:00am and 11:00am.
