Richard Edward “Rich” Stattelman, 61, of Ozawkie, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at his home.
He was born March 3, 1961, in Topeka, to Richard Edward Stattelman and Lola Irene (Wittenbach) Stattelman.
Richard attended elementary school at St. Joseph and Assumption, followed by Hayden High School, graduating in 1979.
He worked as an account representative with Ecolab. He provided maintenance on cruise ships, of which took him all over the world. He lived in California for over 30 years, followed by Arizona, and then back to Kansas for retirement.
Richard enjoyed cruising around on his pontoon boat, attending family game night, hosting poker games, and hanging out with family. He was a Kansas City Chiefs and Royals fan, as well as the KU Jayhawks. Rich was a 3rd degree Knight of Columbus and held the office of secretary.
He is survived by his parents; sister, Pam Diel and husband Dave of Ozawkie; brother, Bill Stattelman and wife Karen of Topeka; sister Debbie Cox and husband Mike of Topeka; nieces and nephews, Derek Diel, Danae Brandenburgh, Alex Stattelman, Sean Stattelman, Trevor Cox, Kaitlyn Haas, Caleb Cox, and Connor Cox; as well as 6 great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, Wednesday, February 1, at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home. A rosary will be prayed at 5:30pm.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am, Thursday, February 2, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
