Richard Rodriguez, 68, of Topeka, KS died February 10, 2021 at Stormont-Vail Hospital due to complications from COVID-19.
He was born January 29, 1953 in Topeka the son of Brigido and Maria (Campos) Rodriguez.
Richard was a 1971 graduate of Topeka High School where he ran Cross Country. He served 7 years in the Army National Guard and worked for 32 years as a machine operator at Jostens Yearbook. He was currently working in housekeeping at the Prairie Band Casino and Resort. Richard was a member of the Crossroads Wesleyan Church. He volunteered for Saving Death Row Dogs, and absolutely loved playing Santa Claus for Mrs. B’s Early Childhood Special Education Class. Richard was a fun loving, outgoing person who enjoyed a good buffet and would teach anyone willing to learn the “East Topeka Shuffle”. He truly will be missed by all.
He married Diana Eaton on February 1, 1986 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include four children, Ray Boos and his wife, Heather of Topeka, Anthony Rodriguez of Brooklyn, NY, Cortney Seaberg and her husband, Ryan of Kansas City, MO and Patric Rodriguez and his wife, Anna of Oconomowoc, WI. Three grandchildren Murphy Boos, Finnigan Boos and Corbin Boos also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, Brigido and Maria Rodriguez, two siblings, Linda Rodriguez and Daniel Rodriguez.
Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Once the COVID-19 Pandemic is under control a celebration of life service will be announced.
