Rhonda Denise King, 63, of Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at her home.
She was born July 15, 1962, to Charles Berry Sr. and Justine (Nickelberry) Berry. Rhonda grew up in Houston, Texas and attended schools there.
Rhonda married Johnny King on September 29, 1979, in Junction City, Kansas. They have shared 46 years together. Johnny survives of the home.
She was a God-fearing woman and was a member of Bethel Apostolic Church. Prior to moving to Topeka, she served her commitment to God at Faith Tabernacle Church in Junction City. She also enjoyed fishing, shopping, and going to yard and estate sales.
Rhonda worked as a special cleaning contractor for FKW, a housekeeper at Days Inn and Marriott, and a custodian at the Riverbend International School. She retired in 2017.
Other survivors include her children, LaShonda Henderson and husband Robert, Johnny Lee King and wife Dana; siblings, Sharon Cummings and husband Thomas, James Berry and wife Sheila, Bridgette Berry, and Cynthia Lynch; grandchildren, Alayris Davis, Terry Long Jr., Dont’e Long, Lily King, Johnny Vivian, Gioni King, JaVah King, JaPharoah King, and Heaven King; great grandchildren, Jeremiah Long, and Ja’sara Long; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Isaac Terrell King Sr.; grandson, Isaac Terrell King Jr.; and brother, Charles Berry Jr.
The family will receive friends from 9:00am to 11:00am, with a funeral service at 11:00am, Friday, March 6, 2026, at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home.
Services in Houston will be conducted with Allen Mortuary.
Interment will be in Houston Memorial Gardens in Pearland, Texas.
