Rey Armando Cruz Antonio

Rey Armando Cruz Antonio, age 51, of Topeka, KS, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Stormont Vail Hospital.

Armando was born the son of Porfirio Cruz Martinez and Catarina Antonio Cruz on October 27, 1968 in Santa Cruz Papalutla, Oaxaca, Mexico.

He met the love of his life, Veronica Nava and they started dating in 1990. They had been together for over 10 years and married on December 24, 2000.

Armando was the owner of Tacos El Mexicano for 22 years. He was a Radio D.J. for 20 years and had his own radio show from 6:00 AM to Noon every weekday. He loved music, helping with the Fiesta Mexicana. Most importantly, Armando will be remembered for being a people person, kind and outgoing. His strong love for his family especially, his grandchildren will be cherished. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his beloved wife of the home, Veronica Nava; parents; son, Armando Cruz, Jr. and his wife Kellie; two daughters, Janet Cruz, Yadira Cabrera and her husband Mario; two brothers, Jose Cruz and his wife Ariana, Alfonso Cruz; three sisters, Concepcion, Lourdes & Isabel Cruz; six loving grandchildren, Jasmin, Javier, Quinn, Jasper, Evelyn and Rey Armando. He also leaves behind a loving extended family and friends.

Armando will lie in state from 4-8:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 27, 2020 with a Rosary being prayed at 6:00 P.M. at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made out to Veronica Nava to help with medical expenses. Contributions can be left or mailed to the funeral home.
