Raymond “Ray” G. Ludwig, 86, of Topeka, KS died Saturday, July 17, 2021 at the University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus.
He was born February 25, 1935 in Topeka the son of Jacob and Irene (Shamberg) Ludwig.
Ray served in the 2nd Battalion 4th Infantry for the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired after 31 years from the State of Kansas as a Supervisor for the Department of Revenue.
Ray was an avid KU Basketball fan and in his younger years enjoyed traveling.
He is survived by three sisters, Carol Fair of Rossville, KS, Judy Cockroft of Richland Center, WI and Louise Reece and her husband, Jerry of Topeka, along with seven nieces and nine nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Irene Ludwig; two sisters, Janice Corwin and Elizabeth Compton and a lifelong friend, Virginia “Ginny” Staton.
Ray has been cremated. A Parish Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 A.M. Monday, July, 26, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, following the rosary,Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Burial of his urn will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to St. Joseph/Sacred Heart Parish or Let's Help sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66603.
