On May 24, 1974, he married Audrey Barbara Harvey. Together, they celebrated almost 45 years of marriage before Audrey’s passing on March 15, 2019.
Pat served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in June of 1954. He owned and operated Hogan Hardware with locations in Carbondale and Topeka. Pat was a hands-on craftsman, and he was very proud of building his own home and loved to tinker in his shop. He took great pride in having a well-manicured lawn and garden. In his spare time, Pat loved skiing, boating, and fishing. He and Audrey enjoyed riding his motorcycle, driving his antique cars, spending time at Lake Perry, and then at the cabin he and his dad built at Wabaunsee Lake. Pat was one to never sit idle and in years past, he raised homing pigeons, built cages and was always ready with a fishing pole to go fishing. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and for the love he had for his family and the great times they had especially during the holidays.
