January 29, 1930 – May 21, 2019
On May 21, 2019 at age 89, Patricia Ann Wiland entered Heaven’s gate to be with her Savior Jesus Christ.
Patricia was born January 29, 1930 to her parents Hagen and Laura Franklin. When she turned 2 years old, she was adopted by Carl and Lakie Bellamy who divorced when Patricia was nine. Lakie raised Patricia alone and reverted back to her maiden name of Lakie Templeton.
Patricia Wiland and her husband Cecil Wiland married April 18, 1953 and lived in Baltimore, MD most of their marriage. In 1993 they moved to Edgewood, MD. Cecil passed and went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 13, 2013. Patricia had suffered a stroke in September of 2013. In late December 2013, she moved to Topeka, KS to reside with her daughter, Charlotte Watts as her caregiver until Patricia passed peacefully at home on May 21, 2019. With this being her late husband’s birthday; what a celebration they must have had.
Patricia Wiland was a wife, homemaker, and mother of 4 girls. Later Patricia went into retail sales. She loved to communicate with anyone she met, but mostly the young ones. Babies were like a magnet to her. Patricia was gracious in giving, always had candy for her great grandchildren. She loved to watch birds eat from a feeder outside her bedroom window and hummingbirds that came to get nectar. At home, the family dogs were always by her side. They loved and protected her. Patricia would wake up and ask where they were. When the dogs went to bed at night, she had to tell them “Good night babies.”
She attended First Southern Baptist church from 2013 – 2018 until she became weak and could no longer continue.
Patricia is survived by her sister, Kate Overbay, daughters, Judy Placek (John), Cecile Mosser (Brock), Charlotte Watts (Stephen), son-in-law, Vernon Popp, grandchildren, Denise Maness, Michelle Placek Bounelis (Pete), Heather Placek,, Michael Popp (Tory), Brian Popp, Amanda Broxterman (Chris), Justin Watts (Sarah), Leah Lane (Jason), great grandchildren, Delilah Popp, Michael Popp Jr., Danika Popp, Caleb Broxterman, Sydney Broxterman, Makayla Broxterman, Kylie Lane, Eliza Lane, Naomi Watts, Joshua Watts, Hannah Ruth Watts, Gabe Bounelis, and Presley Zeiders
