Patricia Marie Tew

Patricia (Pat) Marie Tew, 86, of Topeka, passed away peacefully January 27, 2019 at the House at Midland Care.

Pat was born on August 2nd, 1932 in Topeka, Kansas the daughter of James and Margaret (Wagenrodt) Linehan. She was a graduate of Osage City High School, class of 1951.

Pat was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She often attended Saturday night services with Margaret, Len, Johnny and Rosemary.

Pat worked as a manager at Hallmark Cards before becoming a homemaker. Family was always very special to her. For many years she enjoyed bowling, her monthly get together with her high school friends, daily lunch with her son Dave, shopping, playing solitaire, making candy with her granddaughter Jennie, vacationing with her husband Bob and daughter Cindy, and phone calls from her son Jimmy. She also loved cheering on the KU Jayhawks with her loving cat Freddy (Kitty) sitting by her side.

She married Robert Wayne Tew at the Assumption Church in Topeka on November 26, 1953, he preceded her in death on January 22, 2010. She was also predeceased by her parents and a sister, Catherine Brown.

Pat is survived by three children, Dave Tew (Missy Kerstiens) of Topeka, Cindy Barber (Mike) of Topeka, Jim Tew (Debbie) of Independence, Ks., six grandchildren, Jack Tew, Haley Tew, Jennie Watts (Tim), Anthony Barber, Stephanie Thompson, James Tew Jr., and great grandchildren, Kadence and Carter Watts.

Pat will lie in state at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Monday, February 4th, from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. where her family will receive friends. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
