Patricia Ann “Patty” Guerrero, age 73, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away unexpectedly on December 30, 2025, at her home. She was born on July 26, 1952, in Topeka, Kansas, to John Garcia and Guadalupe Carreno.
Patty was a woman whose life revolved around faith, family, and finding joy in everyday moments. A lifelong Catholic and devoted member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, her faith was steady and deeply rooted, guiding the way she loved, served, and lived her life. Patty was a proud graduate of Highland Park High School, Class of 1970. In her younger years, she worked at La Siesta, continuing a cherished family tradition.
On October 19, 1973, she married the love of her life, Raymond “Jeff” Guerrero, in Topeka. Together, they shared more than 52 years of marriage. Patty’s greatest joy was being a wife, mother, sister, and friend.
She loved to dance and could often be found enjoying live music around Topeka. Patty also enjoyed cooking and baking, gardening alongside her husband, spending time with her sisters, and relaxing with hobbies that brought her joy, including bingo, attending the Arab Shrine Circus each year, Washburn sporting events with her husband, Royals baseball, KU sports, and Chiefs football. She enjoyed giving back to her community by volunteering at Fiesta Topeka at the ticket booth and kids’ corner.
Patty shared a special and close bond with her beloved aunt, Jovita Mendoza, whom she visited often until her passing in May. They are now reunited once again.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Raymond “Jeff” Guerrero of Topeka; her children, Arminda K. Damara, and Andrew J. Guerrero; her brothers, Ed Garcia, Jim Garcia (Jolene), and John Garcia (Valerie); her sisters, Carol Hinojosa, Monie De La Garza, Becky Nicoletti (Joe), and Bobbi Wheeler (Bill); her in-laws, Rayleen Perez (Ivan) and Jay Guerrero; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who loved her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Susanna “Susie” Casebier and Cynthia Gonzalez, and other cherished family members who welcomed her home.
