Nathaleen Marie "Toots" Devore

Nathaleen Marie “Toots” Devore, 79, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away on December 26, 2019 at her home. Toots was born in Topeka, Kansas on July 27, 1940. Daughter of Nathan and Beata Richmeier Vorhies.

Toots graduated from Hayden High School in 1958. She worked at Menninger Hospital for over 17 years. She later started her venture in the casino business and worked as a dealer for Prairie Band Casino for 17 years.

She loved to play cards, Bingo, and marbles. In her spare time, she enjoyed going fishing as well.

Toots loved her family deeply, and valued her grandchildren more than anything. Especially her “special” grandson Jayden. They were inseparable and the best of friends.

Toots is preceded in death by both of her parents, a granddaughter Nicole Christy Morgan, and a son-in-law, “Wimpee”.

She is survived by her children, Mike (Lisa) Meyer of Wichita, KS, Ronald (Bobbie) Morgan Jr. of Tonganoxie, KS, Michelle Rouse of Topeka, KS, and Becky (Tim) Hanika, of Topeka, KS; brother, Charlie Vorhies of Gladstone, MO; sister, Barbara Deghand of Topeka, KS; grandchildren, Victor (Michelle) Cervantez Jr., Steven (Sara) Morgan, Ronald Morgan III, Heather (Michael) Reed, Eric Allen, Samantha Allen, Chad Meyer, Jerad (Amanda) Meyer, Andrea (Todd) Pauly, Cortney (Ethan) Ingmire, Connor Bobb, Bailey Tyrell, Morgan Tyrell, Brad (Kim) Hanika, Blake (Carmen) Hanika, Ben Hanika, Shira Morgan, Melvin Bingham, Charles Peterson, Sonny Peterson, Cody Degand, and Chevy Rouse; and 44 great grandchildren; as well as a host of extended family and friends that meant the world to her.

The family will receive friends, Monday, December 30, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Rosary will follow starting at 10:30 a.m. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will follow starting at 11:00 a.m.

Inurnment will follow at a later date.
