Nancy Jane Welsh, MD

Nancy Jane Welsh, MD, 86, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.

She was born, January 17, 1939, in Columbus, Ohio, to Norval Welsh and Lucille (Furguson) Welsh. She was a graduate from Ohio State Medical School in 1963.

Nancy was a physician and worked at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Topeka for over 20 years, Santa Fe Memorial Hospital, and in Ohio prior to that. She also volunteered at the Marian Clinic.

She enjoyed practicing medicine, animals, sports, walking for exercise, reading, researching family genealogy, helping others, and was a huge Ohio State Buckeye fan.

Nancy was a member of the American Medical Society, Alpha Omega Alpha, and Shawnee County Medical Society.

She is survived by many close friends that were dear to her.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am, Monday, August 25, at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, with a reception following.

Inurnment will be in the Nazareth Convent Cemetery in Concordia, Kansas.
