Michael E. Weissbeck

Michael Edward Weissbeck, age 69, of Topeka, KS, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS after a short illness.

Michael was born on August 28, 1956, in Wamego, KS, the fourth of five sons to Robert J. Sr. and Joan (Glynn) Weissbeck.

He attended and graduated from Holy Name Grade School and Hayden High School in 1975. During his senior year he was All-City, All-League, and All-State in football. That same year, Mike was invited to play in the Kansas Shrine Allstar Game. He furthered his education at Emporia State University.

Michael was married on July 29, 1978, it ended in divorce.

Michael worked many years in the Motel and Convention business in Indiana and Arkansas. Later in his career, he worked at the Arizona Department of Corrections and Kansas Department of Corrections. In his spare time, he loved cooking and always looked forward to hunting season, especially deer season. He enjoyed gardening and always shared his produce with neighbors and friends.

Survivors include his four brothers, Richard E. Weissbeck (Deborah), Patrick J. Weissbeck (Carna) both of Topeka, KS, and Robert Weissbeck, Jr., (Judy) of Rockford, IL, and James F. Weissbeck (Susan) of Leawood, KS. Other survivors include numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life Service for Michael will be held at a later date and will be announced. He will be laid to rest at near his parents at Mt. Calvary Cemetery-Topeka.
