Michael William Rusk

Michael “Mike” William Rusk, 74, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at The University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas.

He was born August 23, 1950, in Kiowa, Kansas, to Bill and Betty Rusk.

Mike was a longtime BEEP Baseball player for the “Topeka Gofors” and a member of Lions Club. He was also a very big Chiefs fan, and when it came voting time, Mike was into politics. If anyone knew Mike, they would know what his favorite flavor was: lemon, lemon, lemon!

He worked as a manager for the State of Kansas Cafeteria.

Mike married Pamela S. Young on August 5, 1972. They celebrated 29 years together, before her passing in 2001.

He is survived by a sister, Susie Fiering, and many close friends, and his dog, Bambi.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Wayne Kidd; and sister, Patty Rusk.

A memorial graveside service will be at 10am, on Monday, August 11, at Mt. Calvary Cemetery-Topeka.
