Michael Edward Martinez

Michael Edward Martinez, age 37, formerly of Topeka, KS, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025, in Seattle, WA.

Michael was born the son of Marty and Kirsten Martinez on August 15, 1987, in Topeka, KS.

During his working career, Michael was employed with Ogden Publications in Topeka, Hallmark in Lawrence, and with a distribution center in Seattle. During his free time, he enjoyed hiking, bike riding and spending time outdoors with nature. He will be remembered for his kindness, caring nature and lovingness to people. Michael will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his beloved parents, Marty and Kirsten Martinez of Topeka; beloved brother, Richard Aaron Martinez of Austin, TX; paternal uncle and aunt, Greg and Bridget Martinez; two maternal aunts and uncle, Kathy Jones and Marvin Parks, and Karen Beckley. Other survivors include his fiancé, Anastasia Byrd; as well as many cousins and friends.

Michael is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mariano and Maria Hazel Martinez; and maternal grandparents, Bob and Mary Bodenheimer.

Per Michael’s request, cremation has taken place, and no formal services will be held.

Memorial contributions can be made in Michael’s memory to the American Cancer Society. Contributions can be mailed to the funeral home.
