Mary Jolene "Mary Jo" Warner

Mary Jolene “Mary Jo” Warner, 69, of Topeka, passed away on February 7, 2023 at Stormont-Vail Hospital.

She was born in Topeka, Kansas on March 21, 1953, the daughter of Joseph Eugene and Margaret (Colvin) McCoy.

She was a graduate of Topeka High School and received her Associates Degree in Nursing from St. Mary of the Plains in Dodge City in 1991.

Mary Jo was a Registered Nurse for the VA Hospital, Stormont-Vail Hospital and St. Francis Hospital.

She enjoyed listening to live music, caring for her house plants, was an avid K-State Football fan and a member of Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church.

Mary Jo married Michael William Warner in Topeka, Kansas on December 30, 1977. He survives of the home. She is also survived by her children, Maggie (Fred) Belk-Cole, Michael David Warner, and Matthew Warner all of Topeka, five grandchildren, Johnny Belk, Devin Belk, Christopher Belk, Destiny Cole and Leo Cole. Her surviving siblings are Janet (Fred) Zweifel of Centennial, CO, Joseph McCoy of Overland Park, Ks, Pat (Janet) McCoy of Texas and Tim (Pam) McCoy of Topeka. She was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Warner in 2016, and by two sisters, Marilyn Taliaferro and Maureen Shrimplin.

A Memorial visitation will be held on Monday, February 27, 2023 at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home from 5:00 to 6:30 with a rosary prayed at 6:30 p.m. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 28th at 10:00 a.m.
