Mary Ann Richardson

Mary Ann Richardson, 87, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2025, at her home.

She was born June 12, 1938, in Topeka, to Peter G. Andes and Amelia C. (Turk) Andes. Mary Ann graduated from Hayden High School in 1956.

Mary Ann worked as a payroll administrator for the Topeka State Hospital. She was a member of Mater Dei Holy Name Catholic Church and had a strong faith and love for her church family.

She married Marvin A. Richardson on June 25, 1988, in Topeka. He passed away in May of 2024.

Mary Ann loved her family. She took care of her parents, traveling with her husband in their RV, and was very active in her nieces and nephew’s lives. She would take them to Worlds of Fun and the movies. She was affectionately known as the “Fun Aunt”.

Survivors include her stepchildren, Marilyn K. Munoz and husband Artie, Linda K. Anguiano and husband Gary; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; numerous great nieces and nephews; and 7 great great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and stepson, Dale Alan; brother, Charles; and sisters, JoAnn and Peggy.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 7, from 5:00pm-7:00pm, with a rosary prayed at 6:30pm, at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am, Saturday, November 8, at Mater Dei Holy Name Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery-Topeka.
