Mary Ann DaPrato

September 8, 1928 — February 3, 2021

Mary Ann DaPrato, 92, of Goldsby, Oklahoma, formerly of Topeka, passed away on February 3, 2021.

She was born in Linwood, Kansas on September 8, 1928 the daughter of James and Helena Louise (Luckan) Toyne.  She was preceded in death by both of her parents and all of her siblings which included, Evelyn Graham, Dorothy Root, Martha Faler, James Toyne, Alvin Toyne and Sidney Toyne.

She was a homemaker and the loving mother of eight children. 

Mary Ann had also lived in Talmage, Florida and Altamont, Illinois where she was a member of St. Clare Catholic Church and the VFW Post #7676 Auxiliary.  While in Topeka, she attended the Assumption Catholic Church.

Mary Ann married Leo F. DaPrato Sr. in Topeka, Kansas on August 6, 1947.  He predeceased her on November 11, 1998.  She is survived by her children:  Gloria Ann McKinney of Sulphur Springs, Texas, Janice Marie Smith (husband Larry is deceased) of Wedgefield, South Carolina, Theresa Ann (Gunny) Wedekind of Goldsby, Oklahoma, Leo F. (Janis) DaPrato Jr. of Carbondale, Kansas, Edward Louis DaPrato of Topeka, David Arthur (Cathy) DaPrato of Minot, North Dakota, Annette Louise (Phil) Schultz of Altamont, Illinois, and Anthony Robert (Leslie) DaPrato of Carbondale, Kansas.  She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Mary Ann will lie in state at Mater Dei Holy Name Church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Sister Corita’s Sandwich Ministry and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 8000 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66603.
