Maria Salome Searles

Maria Salome Searles 73, of Topeka, KS, passed away on August 16, 2021.

Maria was born in Lakin, KS on July 26, 1948 the daughter of Valentine Hernandez and Guadalupe (Mosqueda).

Maria was a veteran serving in the United States Army as a nurse during the Vietnam Conflict. She served from May 12, 1967 to August 7, 1968, she was stationed in San Francisco, California. After the service, she was a loving caregiver for her family.

Survivors include her two sons, Robert Searles and Marcus Searles. She is also survived by several grandchildren along with five brothers and three sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents and several siblings.

Just as the generous person Maria was, she extended her gift of life after death by donating her tissue to others in need. Maria was cremated. A graveside service will be at 10:30 A.M., Monday, August 30, 2021 at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery at Ft. Riley/Manhattan.
