Margaret Rosebaugh

Margaret Rosebaugh, age 98, of Topeka, KS, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at the Midland Hospice House.

She was born the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Forest) Tommer on June 12, 1925, in Waterville, KS. 

Margaret graduated from Waterville High School in 1943. On June 1, 1944, she married William Glen Rosebaugh in Providence, RI. They shared 62 years of marriage before William’s passing on April 15, 2007.

She loved to play cards with family and friends, especially at the community center. In her younger years, Margaret was active with the Ladies Auxiliary at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church and Crystal Ballroom Dancing club. Above all, Glen, Margaret and their children, Judy and Kevin and sometimes relatives or friends, traveled every summer for vacation. First, by car and tent, and then by truck camper. When the children were grown, they traveled by car, airplane and bus, sometimes alone and other times with friends. The family visited all the fifty states as well as Canada, Mexico and England. In February of 2006, they had a very special winter trip with friends to Yellowstone National Park. 

Survivors include her daughter, Judy Ann Blair and her husband Michael of Wichita, KS; son, Kevin I. Rosebaugh and his wife Pam of Topeka; five grandchildren, Joshua Rosebaugh (Caprice), Jeffrey Rosebaugh (Stephanie), Jennifer Smith (Casey), Brandon Bell (Sammi), Melissa Tayman (Paul), and two step-grandchildren, Jennifer Espinoza, Christina Wessley (Matt). Other survivors include 13 great-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law, Nelda Tommer. 

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband; her brother, Melvin Tommer; her brother and sister-in-law, Francis Tommer (Amy); and her sister and brother-in-law, Gertrude Overstreet (Wayne). 

She will in state from 9:30-10:30 A.M., followed by a rosary at 10:30 A.M., on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M., at the church. A graveside committal service will be at 3:30 P.M., on Wednesday, at Riverside Cemetery in Waterville, KS. 

Memorial contributions can be made in Margaret's memory to Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church and/or a charity of the donor’s choice.
