Margaret "Marge" M. Calvin

Margaret Marie Calvin “Marge”, of Topeka, passed away peacefully at 89 years old on September 29, 2025, in Meriden, Kansas.

Marge was born April 17, 1936, to John H. and Catherine (Domme) Roberts. She was the fourth of nine children and attended Sacred Heart Catholic Grade School and Hayden High School.

In 1955, she married John Calvin, and they had two children. Marge worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas for 30 years, retiring in 1998. She was an avid sports fan, cheering on her beloved KC Royals, Chiefs, and KU Jayhawks. Spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her the greatest joy. In her down time, you could find Marge tending to her flower and vegetable garden.

She is survived by her sons, John Calvin of Rose Hill, KS, and Michael (Nancy) Calvin of Topeka; four grandchildren, Katrina (Tyler) Combs, Brady (Rachel) Calvin, Christie (Matthew) Jones, and Michael (Sarah) Calvin; and eight great-grandchildren, Kenna, Kysen, Evelyn, Emery, Daxton, Brody, Hallie, and Collins. She is also survived by two brothers, Frank (Debbie) Roberts and Ronnie Roberts, and sisters-in-law, Janis Roberts and June Roberts.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Calvin; her sisters, Delores Boyle, Betty Myrick, and Jeanett Smith; her brothers, John Roberts, Jim “Gus” Roberts, and Ralph Roberts; and her daughter-in-law, Linda Calvin.

Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 A.M., on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, with a funeral service following at 10:30 A.M., at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery-Topeka.
