Marcia Lucille Meyer

October 29, 1922 — February 20, 2022

Marcia Lucille Meyer, 99, of Marysville, passed away at the Community Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Janesville, Wisconsin on October 29, 1922, the daughter of Edward L. and Vera Katharine (Patterson) Tobin. 

After graduating from Horton High School, she attended Pittsburg State College.  When she came to
Topeka she worked as a Secretary for the Editor of the newspaper.  Marcia was also an Artist who worked in oil and watercolors.  She was a member of the Topeka Art Guild.  She won many awards for her art including the Judges Award and other prestigious awards

She was a member of the Marysville Christian Fellowship in Marysville, Kansas.  Marcia enjoyed gardening, loved animals, was an avid KU fan, and loved reading to her grandchildren.  She would go out of her way to plan special things to do with her grandchildren in order to make their holidays extra special.  People would describe her as a kind and loving person who would make you feel special.

She married Howard Meyer in Kansas City, Kansas on January 9, 1948.  He predeceased her on April 9, 1993.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, and a son Michael Meyer. 

Marcia is survived by three daughters, Linda Watson and husband John of Arroyo Grande, CA, Deborah Kraushaar and husband Steven of Marysville, KS, Beverly Robbins and husband Ronald of Phoenix, AZ, five grandchildren; Amber (Louis) Scrivo, Ali (Mitch) Doty, Jeremy Meyer, Angela (Brian) DeBrot, Justin (Dawn) Watson, nine great grandchildren, Malia Strong, Landon DeBrot, Sydney DeBrot, William Watson, Ryker Watson, Sedona Scrivo, Adrianna Scrivo, Phoenix Scrivo and Jax Scrivo and one great great granddaughter, Olivia Lucille Strong.

Private graveside services will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Helping Hands Humane Society and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas  66603.
