Lydia Borjon

Lydia Borjon, 91, of Topeka, KS died Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Lexington Park Health and Rehabilitation.

She was born February 20, 1930 in Topeka the daughter of Raphael and Petra (Loya) Pimentel.Lydia enjoyed dancing, cooking and attending Kansas State Wildcat football games with her husband, José.  She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and worked as a presser for several local dry cleaners.

Lydia was married for over 73 years to José Borjon.  He preceded her in death on February 6, 2021.  Survivors include a daughter Felizitia Mertel and her husband, Jim; a son, Andre Borjon; a daughter-in-law, Frances (Guerrero) Borjon, wife of a deceased son, Renaldo Borjon along with four sisters, Mary Rios-Crump, Grace Gonzalez, Delores Ruiz and Susan Marinez-Watson.  Three grandchildren, Jesse Ybarra, Chris Ybarra and Lydia Borjon, four great-grandchildren, Oscar Ybarra, Elijah Ybarra, Isabella Ybarra, Anthony Ybarra and a great-great-grandson, Ryder Ybarra also survive.  She was also preceded in death by seven siblings, Aurora Delgado, Helen Carrizales, Esperanza Guebara, Raul Pimentel, Rita Valdivia, Ruben Pimentel and Gil Pimentel.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 until 9:30 A.M. Friday, April 23, 2021 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 A.M. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M.  Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church or Elara Caring Hospice sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6^th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66603.
