Luis Enrique Rodriguez

Luis Enrique Rodriguez, 29, of Overland Park formerly of Topeka died Sunday, January 16, 2022, at AdventHealth at Shawnee Mission.

He was born September 20, 1992, in Garden City the son of Rosa Maria Rodriguez.

Luis graduated from Washburn Technical School and attended Washburn University.  He was a mechanic by trade and could talk about cars for hours.  If someone needed help with their car, he would be there helping them. He liked watching football and was a Tom Brady fan.  Luis brought laughter in every room he entered.  He loved people!  He had the biggest heart.  He loved to help anybody and everybody, no matter if he knew them or not.  His smile would light up any room he walked into.  He loved spending time with his family.  Luis touched many lives and will be greatly missed.

He married Alice Leah Alfrey on June 3, 2017, in Topeka.  She survives.  Other survivors include his mother, Rosa Rodriguez, a sister, Lidia Anna Rodriguez, and a brother, Adrian Hernandez Rodriguez

He will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m.  Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. (noon) Thursday, January 27, 2022, at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at the Rochester Cemetery.
