Luella Jane Bieker

Longtime Hays, KS, resident, Luella Jane (Herrman) Bieker, age 92, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024, at a Topeka hospital.

She was born the daughter of Raymond J. and Lucy (Steckline) Herrman in Liebenthal, KS, on February 5, 1932. Luella married her sweetheart, Clarence F. Bieker on April 25, 1950, in Hays, KS. Together, they shared 65 years of marriage. Clarence passed away on October 3, 2015.

Luella was a homemaker, raising her three children. She was longtime member at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hays and most recently a member at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Topeka.  She was a devoted volunteer for over 25 years at the Community Assistance Center in Hays. In her spare time, Luella enjoyed watching tv and visiting with friends and family. 

Survivors include three children, Claudia Rader and her husband Ronald of Topeka, Thomas Bieker and his wife Deana of Springfield, MO, and Brian Bieker and his wife April of Riverview, OH. Other survivors include several grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Raymond, Jr., Vernon, and LeRoy Herrman. 

Luella will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Hays, KS. 

Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Community Assistance Center, 1108 Oak St., Hays, KS 67601. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
