Lawrence Joseph Perez, affectionately known as Larry or Pedro, passed away at the age of 65. Born on October 31, 1959, Larry grew up in Coffeyville, Kansas, before later settling in Topeka with his family.
From an early age, Larry was passionate about sports—excelling in baseball, boxing, and wrestling. His fierce competitive spirit wasn't just reserved for athletics; it carried into every part of his life. Larry always strived to be his best, and he inspired others to do the same.
Beyond his strength and determination, Larry was a man of deep love, humor, and heart. Silly, spirited, and always ready with a joke or a story, Larry had a unique gift for bringing joy wherever he went. “Life of the party” doesn’t begin to describe the energy and warmth he shared—if you knew Larry, you knew you were loved. His laughter was infectious, his hugs unforgettable, and his stories legendary.
Larry had a deep love for cooking and found joy in gathering people around food, laughter, and shared memories. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend. More than anything, Larry’s mission in life was to care for his family. He made it his personal goal to ensure no one ever went without—and he succeeded with grace, grit, and generosity.
Larry is survived by his four children: Carlos, Christina, Amanda, and Larry Jr., along with their mother, Kelly. He also leaves behind his beloved sister Teresa and numerous grandchildren who will carry on his legacy of love, laughter, and strength.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Victoria and Richard, and his brothers Rick, Mark, and Patrick.
Larry left an undeniable mark on everyone he met. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched with his love, humor, and unwavering support.
