Lana Kombacher

September 29, 1951 — May 4, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lana Kombacher, a beloved mother, grandmother, nurse, and community advocate. Born on September 29, 1951, Lana peacefully departed this world on May 4, 2025, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.

Lana's journey through life was marked by the love she shared with her former husband, Ed Kombacher, and the three children they raised together. She was preceded in death by both Ed and her eldest son, Jeffrey Brown. Lana's spirit lives on through her surviving children: son Daniel Brown and his wife Erika; daughters Nicole Brown, Sara Kombacher, Amanda Watkins, and Katie Robinette. Her legacy of love also shines brightly in the eyes of her 19 grandchildren, who were the absolute joy of her existence.

A woman of immense compassion and unwavering strength, Lana dedicated her life to caring for and serving others. For over two decades, she poured her heart into her work as a NICU nurse, tenderly nurturing the most fragile of lives. With a thirst for knowledge and a desire to do even more, Lana earned her Master's degree and became a midwife, guiding countless families through the miraculous journey of childbirth. Even in her later years, her commitment to care never waned, as she continued to make a difference as a home pediatric nurse.

Lana's passion for service extended far beyond her professional life. She was a fierce advocate for her community and a dedicated participant in local politics. As an active member of the local GOP chapter, a candidate for both the Topeka City Council in 2021 and the Topeka 501 Board of Education in 2023, and a proud alternate delegate to the 2024 Republican National Convention, Lana's commitment to civic engagement was unparalleled. She also served as a district delegate to the Second District Republican Committee, a precinct committeewoman, and a tireless volunteer for numerous political causes.

The world has lost a truly remarkable woman in Lana Kombacher. Her legacy of fierce love, tireless service, and unwavering dedication to family and community will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew her. May her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who mourn her loss.
