Kyra Bauer

Kyra Jean Bauer, 22, of Topeka, passed away Friday, December 1, 2023.

She was born the daughter of Mark and Veronica Bauer on November 1, 2001, in Lynchburg, Virginia.  

Kyra graduated from Hayden High School in 2020 as a Junior at Washburn University.

Kyra was a bright light in everyone's world. Her positive energy, loving heart, and shining personality brought happiness to anyone Kyra was around. 

She loved spending time with her family, you could always count on her to be at any family event big or small. She loved spending time with all of her friends. She was one of the best dancers and always brought a smile and laughter to everyone!  Kyra was a fashion icon to her family and friends. She was a talented athlete and loved participating in many different sports whether it was track, volleyball, pickleball or cheering on her favorite teams.  Kyra was a loving, dependable daughter, aunt, sister, cousin, and friend. If you knew Kyra, then you knew happiness and love.

Survivors include her parents, Mark and Veronica Bauer of Topeka; sister, Alyssa Clancy and husband Chase of Topeka; brothers, Camron Bauer of Merriam and Samuel Bauer of Topeka; grandparents, George and Nancy Unrein of Topeka; niece and Goddaughter, Chloe Clancy of Topeka; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins; and her dog, Gus.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Emmett and Lois Bauer.

A Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 pm, on Monday, December 11, 2023, at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home.  Following the Rosary, the family will receive friends from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  Inurnment will be in Browns Grove Cemetery in Burdett, Kansas.
