Juventino “Joven” C. Sanchez, 94, of Topeka, Kansas passed away January 27, 2019 at Plaza West Nursing Home. Joven was born January 25, 1925 in Topeka. Son of Angel Sanchez and Juanita Cisneros Sanchez. He entered in the Army on July 14, 1943 where he served as a paratrooper for the 101st Airborne Battalion in WWII. He later was honorably discharged on January 18, 1946. After the Army Joven worked as a carman mechanic for Santa Fe Railroad. He was a member of the American Legion, the National Association of Retired and Veteran Railway Employees (NARVRE), and Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He married the love of his life, Domitila “Domi” Blancas on October 5, 1946 in Topeka, Kansas. They spent 72 years together and were blessed with seven children.
Joven is preceded in death by his wife Domitila, both of his parents, three brothers, Jake Sanchez, John Sanchez, and Joe Sanchez; two sisters, Francis Herrera and Bonita Robledo; and one grandson, Montana Stroud.
He is survived by his children Gloria (Allen) Penix of Berryton, KS, Anita (Mike) Ramirez of Topeka, KS, Olivia (Paul) Rivera of Topeka, KS, Connie (Dennis) Stroud of Topeka, KS, Gina Reynoldson of Lenexa, KS, Juventino Sanchez Jr. of Topeka, KS, and Andre (Connie) Sanchez of Topeka, KS; twenty-three grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. where parish rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, February 1, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow with full military honors at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
