Judy Kay Cadwallader, 79, of Topeka, passed away on July 28, 2020 at McCrite Plaza Health Center.
She was born in Emporia, Kansas on February 5, 1941 the daughter of David and Ethel (Lawson) Hayes.
Judy worked for Hallmark Cards for 25 years. She was also a Para Educator for USD #501 retiring from the Avondale West Elementary School.
Judy enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, making Christmas cookies and candy, reading and doing word search puzzles. She especially loved spending time with her family, and grandchildren. She also loved animals almost as much as she loved children.
Judy married Jerry Cadwallader in Ottawa, Kansas on December 23, 2002. He survives her. She is also survived by two daughters, Traci Menke of Topeka, Dusti Peddle of Overland Park, KS, step-daughter, Amanda (Brock) Hartshorn of Topeka, two grandchildren, Ryan (Emily) Padilla of Berryton, KS, Melissa (Kyle) Flynn of Columbus, OH, a step- grandson, Taylor Hartshorn of Topeka, two brothers, Larry Hayes of Emporia and John (Janet) Hayes of Leawood, KS, many nieces and nephews, and Shawn and Tyler Menke and their families, who are the children of her son-in-law, Doug Menke who preceded her in death
She was also preceded in death by her parents, five brothers; David, Walter, Wayne, Virgil and Leslie Hayes.
Judy will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Monday, August 3rd from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. where her funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Helping Hands Humane Society, or the Ronald McDonald House and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66603.
