Johnnie Neil Simmons

Johnnie Neil Simmons, 86, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.

She was born October 6, 1937, in Russellville, Arkansas, to John Garland and Eula (Scott) Garland. She graduated from Lynwood High School in Lynwood, California.

Johnnie worked for the school district as a dispatcher with the transportation department in California.

She enjoyed quilting and sewing.

Johnnie married Clifford Gale Simmons on April 11, 1959, in Lynwood, California. He died in 2022.

Survivors include a daughter, Teri Flores (Leo) of Topeka; granddaughters, Arielle Flores (Megan Boleski) of Topeka, and Madison Bell (Logan) of Seymour, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and daughters, Tammi Simmons and Patti Simmons.

A graveside service will be at 11:00, Friday, October 4, 2024, at Rochester Cemetery in Topeka, Kansas.
