Jaziel Ariel Garcia

Jaziel Ariel Garcia, age 1, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Children’s Mercy Hospital.

He was born on July 28, 2025, in Kansas City, MO, the beloved son of Gilberto Garcia-Soto and Janeth Aguirre.

Though Jaziel’s life was far too short, it was filled with an incredible amount of love, courage, and strength. From the very beginning, Jaziel was a fighter. He faced many challenges throughout his young life, including two heart surgeries, and persevered through each one with remarkable strength. His family will forever remember their sweet boy for how hard he fought and the courage he showed every step of the way.

Jaziel loved bright colors and toys that played music and lit up. He enjoyed playing the drums, but some of his most treasured moments were the simplest ones, being held and rocked in the arms of those who loved him. In just over a year, Jaziel touched countless hearts and taught those around him the meaning of strength, perseverance, and unconditional love.

He leaves behind his loving parents, Gilberto Garcia-Soto and Janeth Aguirre; sister, Jayla Garcia; maternal grandparents, Alberto and Florencia Aguirre; paternal grandmothers, Maria Benita Soto and Jaime Garcia Martinez; as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family. He also leaves behind his family’s beloved French Bulldog, Isabella Garcia.

Jaziel was preceded in death by his great-grandparents; baby cousin, Angel Cardona; and the family’s French Bulldog, Bruno Garcia.

Although his family would have given anything for more time with him, they will forever be grateful for every moment they were blessed to call Jaziel theirs. His little heart fought so hard, carrying a strength far greater than his tiny body. In his short life, Jaziel knew a lifetime of love. He was held, cherished, celebrated, and surrounded by those who loved him beyond measure. While his family’s arms ache to hold him again, the love he brought into their lives will never leave them. Jaziel’s life will not be measured by the time he was given, but by the immeasurable love that filled every moment of it and the beautiful mark his brave little heart left on this world.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., on Monday, September 14, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery-Topeka.

Memorial contributions may be made payable to Jaziel’s mother, Janeth Aguirre, to assist the family with funeral expenses and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home.
