Jason Daniel Sparks

Jason Daniel Sparks, age 49, of Topeka, KS, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024, at Stormont Vail Hospital.

He was born the son of Ray Harville and Nancy Reitz on August 14, 1974, in Perry, FL. On June 2, 2001, Jason married Sonya Garcia in Topeka, KS. Together, they shared two days shy of 23 years of marriage.

Jason was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and a Third-Degree Knights of Columbus Council #13012. Jason was a man of faith putting God and his family first followed by his love for the Kansas City Chiefs. Jason also enjoyed wrestling, cooking, grilling, and having a good time. Jason’s greatest joy was spending time with his wife and boys. He was sociable with anyone he talked to and had a natural talent to put a smile on anyone’s face. Jason will be dearly missed but we take comfort in the memories he created in this life.

Survivors included his beloved wife, Sonya Sparks; son, Jason Sparks; grandson, Riley Sparks; sons, Ryder & Archer; mother, Nancy Reitz and her husband Lee; brother, Freddy Weaver; two sisters, Lynda Sparks and Mandy Weber. Other survivors include numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Harville.

Jason will lie in state from 9:30-10:30 A.M., followed by a parish rosary at 10:30 A.M., on Friday, June 7, 2024, at St. Matthew Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M., at the church. Cremation will follow after the services.
