Janice “Jan” R. Kulick, beloved wife, mom, grandma, and sister, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Oakley Place of Topeka.
She was born the daughter of the late Robert W. and Lois J. (Sharp) Winter on April 11, 1959, in Topeka, KS. Jan was a proud graduate of Washburn Rural High School. On May 5, 1985, she married her sweetheart, Jeff J. Kulick, in Topeka, KS. Together they shared 40 years of marriage.
Jan began her working career with Payless ShoeSource and later devoted many years to the Kansas Judicial Branch office in Topeka as the facilities and building manager. She was a strong-willed leader who became the go-to person for coordinating events and overseeing daily operations. With a gift for organization and a natural ability to keep everything and everyone on track, Jan earned the respect of colleagues, and she took great pride in her work and was admired for her determination and dependability.
Outside of her career, Jan cherished peaceful walks alone or with family, finding joy in simple moments. She loved planning gatherings where her thoughtful nature shined, making sure family and friends felt welcomed and celebrated. She especially valued raising her sons, supporting her husband, being with her grandchildren, and attending family functions and sporting events.
Jan was also a dedicated advocate for the M.S. Society for over 30 years. Her strong will and unwavering spirit drove her to support fundraising efforts and participate in walks year after year, always striving to make a difference for others.
Faith was just as important as family to Jan, and she was a devoted parishioner at Christ the King Catholic Church. Her strength, love, and devotion will be remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
Survivors include her husband, Jeff Kulick; son, Justin Kulick and his wife Christina and their children, Isabella, Eva, Carter, and Colton; son, Josh Kulick and his wife Lacee; son, Jason Kulick and his wife Adrianne and their children, Marcus and Madison. Other survivors include her four brothers, Mike Winter (TK), Jeff Winter (Dianne), Patrick Winter (Allison), Max Winter (Bonnie); as well as one sister, Pam Winter; and her mother-in-law, Darlene Kulick.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M., on Friday, October 10, 2025, with a visitation to follow until 4:00 P.M., at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home. Jan will be laid to rest at Mt. Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
