Jana Sue Larson

July 22, 1956 — December 4, 2021

Jana Sue Larson, 65, of Topeka, passed away on December 4, 2021, at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

She was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on July 22, 1956, the daughter of Laverne and Dolores Ann (Voelker) Dinkel.

Jana was a graduate of Hayden High School with the class of 1974.  She was a homemaker and taught Safety Training for the Public School Bus System. 

Jana made and repaired dolls, enjoyed crafting and cooking.  She was a member of Over the Rainbow Doll Club, NE Kansas Doll Club and the Cherish Doll Club.  She was very supportive of her daughters activities in dance and soccer.  Jana loved being a grandmother and adored her three grandchildren.

Jana married Dale James Larson at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church on May 24, 1986.  They shared 35 years of marriage.  He survives her.  She is also survived by a daughter, Jamie Cox, and her three children, Cayson, Corbyn and Olivia “Libby”, two brothers, Jim Dinkel and wife Monique of Castle Rock, CO, and Mike Dinkel and wife Valerie of Bowie, Maryland, her cousin that was like a brother to her, Phillip Schell and wife Susan of Dallas, Texas and many nieces and nephews.  Her parents preceded her in death.

Jana will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-7:00 p.m. where her family will greet friends and family and a rosary will be prayed 5:30 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  Entombment will be private.

 Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Most Pure Heart of Mary School or Christ the King School, and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas  66603.
