Jacobo Hernandez, 66, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022, at Stormont-Vail Hospital.
He was born in cd Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico on January 9, 1956, the son of Delfino Hernandez and Carmen Moreno.
He worked for several temporary service companies in several capacities including packaging.
He enjoyed cooking, listening to oldies music, and watching western movies, and baseball and football games on tv. He loved to travel and visit with his family. He also enjoyed auto mechanics and tinkering in his garage. He would start to slow dance with his wife when he’d listen to his oldies. He loved his sweets and always telling funny jokes. Jacobo was always very caring, he was always there to lend a helping hand and loved his family very much.
Jacobo married Rosa Maria Rodriguez on February 12, 1994, in Garden City, Kansas. She survives. He is also survived by his children; Jacobo Hernandez Najera, Claudia Hernandez Najera, Fabiola Hernandez Najera, Ruben Hernandez Najera and Adrian Hernandez Rodriguez, eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, along with nine siblings, Maria de Jesus Galves, Ceferina Hernandez Frayre, Sara Hernandez Molina, Magdalena Hernandez Corral, Gloria Hernandez Carmona, Delfino Hernandez Moreno, Noemi Hernandez Chacon, and Raquel Hernandez Santillas also survive
He will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Sunday, January 23, 2022, from 2:00 until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 24th, 2022, 10:00 AM at Brennan-Mathena funeral home with interment to follow in Rochester Cemetery.
