Tom Thomas Henninger

J. Thomas Henninger, 82, of Topeka, passed away on January 11, 2019 at Stormont-Vail Hospital surrounded by his family.

He was born in Kansas City, Missouri on February 5, 1936 the son of Marian (Smith) Henninger. 

Tom worked as a Salesman for Maxwell House Coffee, General Foods and retired from Fleming Foods.

He was a cowboy at heart and loved horseback riding, shooting sports, hunting, guns, reloading, camping, golf and fishing.  Tom lived his faith and especially loved his family, friends and the fellowship of food.

He is survived by his wife Doris (Carpenter Hendrix) Henninger of the home, five daughters, Peggy (Stan) Ramos, Patti Fahrbach (Tony Terlik), Kathy Bourell all of Hutchinson, KS., Lucinda (Craig) Piligian of Thousand Oaks, CA, Julie (Alex) Mederos of Plano, TX, a step son, Ken (Pam) Hendrix of Stilwell, KS, fourteen grandchildren, and nineteen great grandchildren, a sister, Tege Burke, and three brothers, Michael (Darleen) Henninger, Tim McSorley and Chris (Marina) McSorley all of Kansas City.

Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Marion McSorley; a sister, Rita; three brothers, Joseph, Terry and Tony, and two grandchildren, Robert Thomas and Ryan Bourell.

Tom will lie in state at Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church on Tuesday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. where his family will receive friends and a rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m.   Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday 11:00 a.m. at the church.  Interment will be private.
