Ida L. Harmon

Ida L. Harmon, age 87, of Meriden, KS, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022, at Stormont Vail Hospital.

She was born the daughter of Lewis and Elsie Evelyn (Kerr) Watson on August 17, 1934, in Topeka, KS. Ida married Denzil “Dink” W. Harmon on April 19, 1954. Dink passed away on June 27, 1989, after 35 years of marriage.

Ida was a longtime daycare provider. She loved watching kids and helped with watching her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the neighborhood kids. In her spare time, Ida enjoyed reading, watching crime shows and camping with her husband. She was a member of the Eastern Star and a past member of the UMC Rock Creek.

Survivors include her two sons, Kevin Harmon and his wife Jeannine, and Mark Harmon; three daughters, Deanna Huske and her husband Mark, Suzanne Harmon, and Christine Hawn; six grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her three brothers, Harold Watson, Jimmy Watson and his wife Alice, and Ron Watson and his wife Candace; and one sister, Leah Rae Lawrence and her husband Jim.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Denzil “Dink” Harmon; granddaughter, Tasha; and a great-grandson, Connor.

Visitation with viewing will be held from 10-11:00 A.M., on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 A.M., both at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home. The burial will take place at Meriden Cemetery in Meriden, KS.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Ida's memory to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
