Helen Jeanette Harris, 67, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at the University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City, Kansas.
She was born March 30, 1956, in Dekalb, Texas to Enis Lee Williams and Sarah Eileen (Pero) Williams.
Helen worked as a housekeeper and foster parent.
She enjoyed raising her children, crafting, making jewelry and baskets, as well as cooking. Helen was a very fashionable lady, and dressing up brought her joy.
Helen was a member of Miracle Life Church.
She married Jack Beasley on December 3, 2021. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include her children, Michael Dewayne Grant of Topeka, Odessa Ross of Topeka, Malachi Harris of Texas, Monique Mitchell and husband Monroe of Clarksville, Tennessee, Chris Harris of Wichita, Khadijah Harris of Topeka, Kyle Harris of Ellsworth, and Zachariah Harris of Alabama; grandchildren, LaKresha Brooks, Eviaun Ross, Eviaunce Ross, Evan Ross; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters Elouise Ware and husband Leroy of Topeka, Andrea Williams and husband James of Topeka.
She was preceded in death by her parents, other siblings, grandchild En’Joi Mitchell, and brothers, Sanders Williams and Willie Williams.
Helen will lie instate on Thursday, March 14, at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, from noon to 8:00pm, where the family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, March 15, at Open Arms Outreach Ministry Church of God in Christ, 2401 SE 11th St, Topeka, KS 66607.
Interment will be at Topeka Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave. Topeka, KS 66603, to help with final expenses.
