George Joseph Silovsky Jr., 61, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away December 11, 2018 at his home. He was born on May 2, 1957 in Topeka. Son of George J. Silovsky Sr. and Mary Agnes Roy Silovsky. George graduated from Hayden High School in 1975 where he then went to St. Gregory College in Oklahoma. George later started working for Dinkel Construction Company, where he recently retired. He married Joan Dultmeier, and were married for 26 years. Together they had two children.
In his younger years he was a member of the Eagle Scouts. George loved to be outside. He loved horses, fishing, hunting and yard work. He was known as a “fix it” guy, where he would help his neighbors with yard work, fixing things around their house, and other odd jobs that he loved helping people with. He was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church. He was very invested in his church and his church community, also helping them out with odd jobs around the church. He treasured his time with family and friends and enjoyed spending time at their family cabin in Oklahoma, where he would also hunt deer, turkey, and large hogs. He took tremendous pride in their cabin, where he would constantly keep up the land and appearance.
George is preceded in death by both of his parents.
He is survived by his daughter Megan (Steven) Moss; son, Matthew Silovsky; sister, Christine Collins; brothers, Paul Silovsky, John Silovsky, and Thomas Silovsky; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great niece’s and great nephew’s that he adored and loved; and long-time companion Deborah Strom.
Visitation will be at Christ the King Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2018. Mass of Christian Burial will follow, starting at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be Monday at the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ The King Catholic Church and sent in the care of Brennan Mathena Funeral Home.
