Ruth Peugeot, age 75, of Topeka, KS, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022, at The University of Kansas Healthy System-St. Francis Campus. Three days later, her beloved husband, Dick Peugeot joined Ruth in heaven. Dick passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at the same hospital, at the age 84.
Ruth was born the daughter of Russell and Wilma Sebree on December 24, 1946, in Kansas City, KS. She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Bertha Catlett. She is survived by her sister, Judi Puhr.
Dick was born the son of Arley and Dorothy Mae (Baker) Peugeot on March 2, 1937, in Joplin, MO. He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, George, Jack, and Larry Peugeot. He is survived by his brother, Roger Peugeot.
Dick and Ruth married on February 14, 1964, in Kansas City, KS. Together, they shared 57 years of wonderful marriage.
Both shared a deep love for God. Dick received a bachelor’s degree in Theology. In his younger years, he enjoyed flying and being a pilot. He was a long time Pastor, always carrying his Bible with him and reading. He will be known for his caring nature and his faith. Ruth graduated with a bachelor’s degree. She enjoyed animals, especially cats. She loved to spoil her grandchildren and family time brought her the greatest joy. Ruth was the owner/operator of Ruth’s Floral Designs in Topeka. Her love and creativity allowed her to express her passion and enjoyment by creating beautiful floral arrangements for every occasion.
Together, Dick and Ruth shared a deep spiritual bond with their faith and love. They were inseparable, always side by side through thick and thin. Although, death separated them for three days, they joined together in the heavenly arms of God.
Survivors include their three children; son, Dave Peugeot; daughter, JoDee Peugeot; son, Dan Peugeot and his wife Melissa; four cherished grandchildren, Dillon, Derek, Paige, and Lauren.
A combined visitation will be from 1-2:00 P.M., on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home.
A combined funeral service will follow at 2:00 P.M.
Private family burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery in Kansas City, Kansas.
Memorial contributions can be made in their loving memory to The University of Kansas Cancer Center. Contributions can be left or mailed to the funeral home.
