Derek A. Schmidt, age 55, of rural Overbrook, KS, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

Memorial visitation will be held from 9-10:30 A.M., with a rosary prayed at 10:30 A.M., on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 A.M., at the funeral home. A graveside service will take place at 1:30 P.M., on Monday, at Richland Cemetery, Richland, KS.
