Dennis Henry Okruhlik

Dennis Henry Okruhlik, age 75, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away on August 18, 2026, from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. Dennis was born on February 4, 1951 in San Antonio, Texas to Julius and Jennie Okruhlik. He was baptized in the Catholic Church and was very committed to his faith.

Dennis spent the majority of his career working in the maintenance department for the State of Kansas. He married Diania Stone and they had three children – Katherine Addington, Sandra Tanner and Christian Okruhlik. His second marriage was to Diana Banks; from that marriage Dennis has two step-sons, Paul Banks, and Adam Banks. Dennis and Diana together had Tessa Okruhlik-Barr and Jacob Okruhlik. Dennis is father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

The most important thing to Dennis was his devotion to his family. He enjoyed coaching his children’s sports teams, woodworking, wood carving, photography, stained glass, reading books, and he became a master gardener.

On Tuesday, August 25th, 2026, at 6:00 PM, friends and family will join in for a visitation at Mother Teresa Catholic Church. A rosary service will follow at 7:30 PM. Funeral services will be held at Mother Teresa at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 26th, 2026, followed by burial at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum.
