Delbert Romesburg

January 29, 1956 — February 16, 2021

 Delbert Romesburg, age 65, of Topeka, KS, passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka.

Delbert was born the son of Delbert Romesburg and Jessie Beckwith on January 29, 1956 in Trenton, Missouri. He graduated from the Kansas School for the Deaf and after graduating, he briefly attended VoTech in Minnesota.

He worked as a Postal Clerk and retired after 33 years with the postal service. After retirement, Delbert worked as a Valet for the Stormont Vail Heart Center. A job that he truly loved and enjoyed for the past year.

On June 17, 2006, Delbert married Robin Talbot at Lake Shawnee in Topeka. Together, they shared 14 years of marriage. He was a member of the Topeka Association of the Deaf and he will be greatly missed by his T.A.D. family. Delbert’s special interest and hobbies included; camping and while camping, starting and making a fire would put the biggest smile on Delbert’s face, fishing, darts, listening to loud music, parties, teasing and making people laugh. Above all, Delbert was a kind-hearted man who enjoyed life and cherished his family and friends. Although, he was taken from us far too soon, we can take comfort with the memories we have and that he will live forever in our hearts.  

Survivors include his beloved wife, Robin Romesburg; son, Rob Romesburg and his wife Jessica; adopted son, Landon Romesburg; mother and step-father, Jessie and Bill Beckwith; three step-children, Tobin Maddux, Barry Maddux & Marie Maddux; siblings, Peggy Forbes and her husband Bruce, Ronnie Romesburg and his wife Ann, Donnie Romesburg, Linda Munoz and her husband Rick, Daniel Romesburg and his wife Jancy, Becky Adams, Glenda McCanliss, Lonnie Beckwith and his wife Tina, Aaron Romesburg; grandchildren, Henley and Hendrix Romesburg as well as grandchildren, Taylor Maddux, Jullian Maddux, Emma Maddux, Evion Maddux, Kaylee Schump, Caleb Schump and Colby Maddux. Delbert also leaves behind a loving extended family that includes many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Delbert Romesburg; step-mother, Tina Romesburg and a niece, Danielle Romesburg.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 19, 2021 from 4-8:00 P.M. at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life Service will be on Saturday, February 20 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery. Family kindly asks for those that attend, to please wear casual attire that supports the KC Chiefs, KC Royals, KU or your favorite music band.

Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to his wife, Robin Romesburg. The contributions will be used to help with the grandchildren's future education expenses. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
